Overview

This standard comprises the following:

1 Receive and store explosive materials
2 Issue explosive materials to authorized persons

Performance Criteria

1 Receive and store explosive materials

P1 explosive materials for store are received, handled, stored and issued in accordance with operational and organizational procedures and with relevant legislation
P2 keys are secured in conformity with organizational and operational requirements and relevant legislation
P3 security measures, safety and condition of area surrounding the store are checked thoroughly to ensure that they comply with legislative requirements
P4 potential security risks are correctly identified and reported to the appropriate person(s)
P5 storage conditions are checked and confirmed to ensure that they comply with manufacturers' recommendations for the explosives
P6 stock control, movements and quantities of explosives are accurately recorded in accordance with operational and organizational procedures and the relevant statutory requirements
P7 identified and authorized persons only are allowed into the storage area in accordance with store security procedures
P8 problems and conditions outside the responsibility of the candidate are referred to an authorized person
P9 work is carried out to approved procedures and practices and in compliance with statutory requirements
