Overview

This standard comprises the following elements:

1. Evaluate the effectiveness of results in meeting complex research objectives for explosive substances and/or articles
2. Document research and findings on explosive substances and/or articles.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as senior research leaders working at strategic level with organizations outside their own.

Performance Criteria

1. Evaluate the effectiveness of results in meeting complex research
objectives for explosive substances and/or articles
P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 confirm that the results have been validated
P3 verify that any work carried out by third parties has delivered its objectives
P4 evaluate the results using valid and consistent methods
P5 ensure that the evaluation of the results is logical and objective
P6 evaluate the conclusions of the research in comparison with the original objectives and strategy
P7 identify any area(s) in which the research fails to meet its objectives
P8 explain any identified causes for failure
P9 present the recommendations for areas of further work
P10 make arguments for changes in the research strategy, where your findings indicate a need for changes
