This standard covers the competences you need to contribute to locating the disposition of potential munitions in accordance with approved procedures and practices.
You will be required to demonstrate that you can assist in carrying out an appropriate survey of the local environment and report the findings and implement the plan as directed in accordance with approved procedures and practices.
This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as munition clearance operators.
P1 work safely at all times, complying with relevant health and safety, environmental and other regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 assist in carrying out an appropriate survey of the local environment and report the findings
P3 implement the plan as directed
P4 assist in the selection of the most appropriate detection method and resources
P5 use the appropriate equipment effectively to the recognized standards and manufacturer’s instructions
P6 report inconsistencies or anomalies of information
P7 take prompt corrective action in the event of problems arising

P9 confirm that the area has been searched within the stated criteria
