Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to carry out tests of explosive substances and/or articles in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can confirm that the correct explosive substances and/or articles have been selected for testing. Taking suitable precautions to prevent damage to the test and monitoring equipment in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as test and evaluation supervisors

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 ensure that you and those under your control carry out the test procedure and the plan correctly
P3 ensure that all preparatory work has been carried out
P4 ensure that all safety precautions are in place
P5 confirm that the correct explosive substances and/or articles have been selected for testing
P6 ensure that all explosive substances and/or articles are protected from all forms of contamination and/or damage
P7 take suitable precautions to prevent damage to the test and monitoring equipment
P8 respond to developing events and priorities in accordance with procedures
P9 segregate and dispose of the process residues and products in accordance with approved procedures
P10 adhere to the relevant quality standards
P11 maintain documentation in accordance with organizational procedures
P12 maintain the requirements of confidentiality at all times
