Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to evaluate the results of tests of explosive substances and/or articles in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can analyse the data using accepted methods and procedures, reaching valid and logical conclusions from the available evidence, and make appropriate recommendations in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as test and evaluation, research, design and development and procurement supervisors.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 ensure that you have the necessary data on which to conduct the analysis
P3 resolve any inconsistencies in the data
P4 analyse the data using accepted methods and procedures
P5 check that the data analysis is accurate and takes account of the test conditions
P6 reach valid and logical conclusions from the available evidence, and make appropriate recommendations
P7 record the results of the analysis in the correct format, and report your findings
P8 report the evaluation in accordance with your organization’s procedures
P9 adhere to the relevant quality standards
P10 maintain the requirements of confidentiality at all times
