Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to separate recoverable materials and waste produced by the explosive process in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can confirm that you have the correct procedures concerning operational requirements for the process, reporting any problems beyond your level of authority to the appropriate person in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes those working as manufacturing operators.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 confirm that you have the correct procedures concerning operational requirements for the process
P3 ensure that processed, part processed, excess and recoverable materials are separated and removed at the correct stages in the process and are identified accordingly
P4 ensure that any spillages and contamination are cleaned up promptly in accordance with your organization’s procedures
P5 ensure that the recoverable materials and waste are dealt with according to your organization’s procedures
P6 ensure that materials and waste are handled in ways that prevent them from being damaged, spilled or contaminated
P7 report any problems beyond your level of authority to the appropriate person
P8 complete correctly the required documentation
