This standard covers the competences you need to implement the adjustment of explosive substances and/or articles in accordance with approved procedures and practices.
You will be required to demonstrate that you can follow the correct operating specifications for the explosive articles being adjusted, carrying out adjustments within the limits of your authority in accordance with approved procedures and practices.
This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as maintenance operators.
P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 follow the correct operating specifications for the explosive articles being adjusted
P3 ensure that the tools used are fit for purpose
P4 carry out adjustments within the limits of your authority
P5 make the required adjustments in the specified sequence and in an agreed timescale
P6 confirm that the adjusted equipment meets the required operating specification
P7 report any instances where the equipment fails to meet the required operating performance after adjustments or where there are identified faults outside the required adjustments
P8 dispose of waste materials in accordance with safe working practices and approved procedures
P9 maintain documentation in accordance with organizational requirements
P10 maintain the requirements of confidentiality at all times
P11 comply with the appropriate quality standards
