Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to put explosive substances and/or articles into storage in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can resolve any storage or resource problems within your level of authority. Taking action in accordance with procedures, where explosive substances and/or articles are received in a suspect or damaged state in the right locations in accordance with approved procedures.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes those working as storage and general explosives workers.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 confirm that the transit, stabling and storage locations are suitable
P3 adhere to the storage plan
P4 use handling equipment correctly to meet all tasking requirements
P5 resolve any storage or resource problems within your level of authority
P6 confirm that the type, quality and quantity of the goods is in accordance with receipts documentation and report any discrepancies
P7 take action in accordance with procedures, where explosive substances and/or articles are received in a suspect or damaged state
P8 ensure that all documentation is correctly completed
