This standard covers the competences you need to supervise the maintenance of storage conditions for explosive substances and/or articles in accordance with approved procedures and practices.
You will be required to demonstrate that you can develop and maintain a system to record that storage conditions fully meet the requirements, identifying and managing any remedial actions necessary to restore required storage conditions in accordance with approved procedures.
This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involvesWeapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes those working as storage supervisors.
P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 ensure that the correct storage conditions are maintained at all times
P3 develop and maintain a system to record that storage conditions fully meet the requirements
P4 identify and manage any remedial actions necessary to restore required storage conditions
P5 take prompt, appropriate action to maintain the quality of explosive substances and/or articles in storage
P6 report any shortfalls and excursions outside the required standards to the relevant authority
P7 take appropriate action in accordance with organizational procedures in the case of suspect explosive substances and/or articles pending further investigation
P8 ensure regular reviews of the status of segregated and suspect items
