This standard covers the competences you need to maintain the quality of explosive substances and/or articles in storage in accordance with approved procedures and practices.
You will be required to demonstrate that you can maintain the system to record that storage conditions fully meet the requirements, taking prompt and appropriate action to maintain the quality of explosive substances and/or articles in storage in accordance with approved procedures.
This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes those working as storage operators.
P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 check that the correct storage conditions are maintained at all times
P3 maintain the system to record that storage conditions fully meet the requirements
P4 take prompt appropriate action to maintain the quality of explosive substances and/or articles in storage
P5 report any shortfalls and excursions outside the required standards to the relevant authority
P6 take appropriate action in accordance with organizational procedures in the case of suspect explosive substances and/or articles pending further investigation
