This standard covers the competences you need to obtain information on the destination and schedule of the explosive load by rail in accordance with approved procedures and practices.
You will be required to demonstrate that you can identify where information on the destination and schedule can be obtained, assessing any recent information that could affect the achievement of the destination and schedule in accordance with approved procedures
This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as transport supervisors.
P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 identify where information on the destination and schedule can be obtained
P3 identify any problems with obtaining the information on the destination and schedule and take appropriate action
P4 identify any special requirements for reaching the destination
P5 identify any special requirements for timing the delivery or collection
P6 assess any recent information that could affect the achievement of the destination and schedule
P7 communicate in an appropriate manner, with the relevant people
K1 the health, safety and environmental and other statutory legislation, regulations and safe working practices and procedures governing explosives and their implications for your area of work
K2 the relevance of personal protective equipment (PPE)
K3 the nature, characteristics, hazards and risks of the explosive substance and/or article
