Overview

This standard comprises the following elements.

1 Identify the legal, safety and operating requirements for the vehicle and the load.
2 Protect the vehicle and load from security risks.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as transport operators.

Performance Criteria

1 Identify the legal, safety and operating requirements for the vehicle and the load
P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 obtain information on the legal, safety, and operating requirements that apply to driving the vehicle, carrying the load and the roads to be used
P3 observe the legal, safety, and operating requirements of the vehicle and the load, before and during driving
P4 ensure that you hold the correct driving licence for the vehicle being driven
P5 check that your are fit to drive safely in compliance with all relevant legal, safety, and operating requirements at all times
P6 identify any problems with complying with legal, safety, and operating requirements and take appropriate action

Knowledge and Understanding

1 Identify the legal, safety and operating requirements for the vehicle and the load
K1 the health, safety and environmental and other statutory legislation, regulations and safe working practices and procedures governing explosives and their implications for your area of work
